Workshops Bio

Hiya!

Hi! I’m Alea – a simple home cook and food blogger who loves to eat well and refuses to give up my favorite foods. Required to go Gluten/ Dairy/ Egg/ Soy / Sugar and Corn free, my favorite recipes growing up in an Italian family were my first challenge. My motto is, if I can do it, you can too.

My life outside work is basically buried under reams of fresh homemade pasta, pies, confections and cooking huge family dinners from scratch.   I do know a little about cooking- two summers working in a restaurant kitchen in Italy taught me the value of fresh ingredients, simple recipes, and that oh my GOD Italians demand nothing but The Best. Which is good.  Most of the time. ;)

I have a background in education, I did all the degrees and fancy letters to prove there is some wee grey matter in the noggin.  It helps though- after busting my bottom running after first graders and reams of volunteer work, I now know how to keep people’s attention and have fun while learning.  I’ll even break out the red checkered tablecloths and Dean Martin music if I have to! (That’s amooooooreee…)

Check out the workshops listed above on this page.  It doesn’t matter if you are gluten/dairy/egg/soy/corn/sugar/xanthan free.  Together we’ll put your favorites back on your plate!

Just found you – and, boy, do you make me wish I lived in Ottawa!! (I’m on Vancouver Island – a bit far to commute.) Your workshops sound like SO much fun! But instead I will hungrily devour this great website and your super-positive attitude.
